UNEP Global Environmental Outlook GEO-6
The GEO-6, inside the topic “Healthy Planet, Healthy People” aims to build solid and scientific source based on on the findings of previous GEO reports, including the six regional assessments (2016), and outlines the current state of the environment, illustrates possible future environmental trends and analyses the effectiveness of policies. It emphasizes that urgent and inclusive action is needed by decision makers at all levels to achieve a suistainable develpoment by 2050.
Published last March 2019, in conjunction with the fourth United Nations environmental assembly, the sixth edition of the United Nations Global Environment Outlook (2019) invites the decision makers to take immediate action to address the urgent environmental issues to achieve the goals of sustainable development and other internationally agreed environmental objectives, such as the Paris Agreement under the UN Convention on Climate Change.
Three ISPRA experts, who have contributed in various ways to the drafting of the GEO-6, in order to increase its dissemination in Italy between the general public and political decision-makers, have translated in italian the report .
