Public selection for IPBES experts
The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is an independent intergovernmental organization, in which all member states of the United Nations can participate.
IPBES was established to improve communication between science and policy on biodiversity and ecosystem services. The actions and reports published by the IPBES are the result of cooperation between th research world, the bodies responsible for monitoring and controlling the state and decision-makers.
On 27 January 2020, the Italian government formally joined the IPBES and, on the recommendation of the Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea designated three ISPRA experts as National Focal Points (NFP).
With the notification EM/2021/05 IPBES has announced that from 15 April to 10 June 2021 it will be possible to participate in the second revision of the draft chapters and the summary, for policy makers, of the assessment document on the sustainable use of wild species. The review can be attended by policy makers, experts and researchers with experience in the different disciplines relevant to the contents of the document.
