ISPRA support activities for developing countries as part of the ICAT project

The "Initiative for Climate Action Transparency" (ICAT) project, developed under the Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement, is a voluntary multilateral initiative that aims to support developing countries development to adopt mitigation and adaptation measures to climate change in line with the commitments of the Paris Agreement.

ISPRA, together with UNEP-DTU, co-partner in the activities, has been carrying out training activities for experts since 2018 on how to estimate greenhouse gas emissions and carry out periodic reporting. Among the different countries involved, various activities were conducted with Chinese experts to prepare for the implementation of the new transparency rules under the Paris Agreement, focusing on the application of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for inventory. ISPRA will continue its support activities for China until 2022.

ISPRA is also a  partner in the # Data4BetterClimateAction communication campaign, as part of # COP26, to promote the value of transparency, with Director Alessandro Bratti as testimonial.
