CIMPA projectg, training activities in Portofino
Today, 25 May, the “Portofino” Marine Protected Area will welcome ISPRA experts to continue training on the topic of combating hydrocarbon spills and their minimization.
Staff and volunteers will be trained in the assessment of the state of the coast of the littoral (medology called SCAT) and in the rapid characterization of the main physico-chemical characteristics of the hydrocarbon product, two activities useful for providing support to institutions in emergency contexts.
The CIMA project (Contrast to Accidental Marine Pollution by hydrocarbons) has in fact, among its purposes, to contribute to the affirmation of Marine Protected Areas as a reference institution in the coordination and implementation of the first intervention activities in case of accidental pollution locally.
