On November 17 there will be a meeting of the Technical Roundtable, that include 15 Regions, 1 Autonomous Province and 13 ARPA. Thus begins the second phase of the activities to define the risk assessment criteria aimed at identifying the order of priority of the interventions in the Regional Plans for the Reclamation of Polluted Areas (PRB). In fact, the art. 199, paragraph 6, letter a) of Legislative Decree 152/06 assigns this task to ISPRA which has decided to share the work with the bodies involved in the matter: Regions/Autonomous Provinces and Agencies for the environmental protection. The Table aims to test the flexibility of the methodology already identified in the first phase of the activities, presented in the workshop last May and illustrated in the Report Risk assessment criteria for priority setting of the remediation interventions (365/2022)

Landslide Ischia: In the last 15 years, 15 hectares of soil have been consumed on the island of Ischia: on average, 10,000 m2 of new buildings per year

Landslide in Ischia
A strong storm hit the island of Ischia in the night between 25 and 26 November causing flooding, the rains that fell violently at dawn caused a landslide in the Celario area. According to the data contained in the Landslides and floods in Italy: hazard and risk indicators – 2021 Edition, overall 93.9% of Italian municipalities (7,423) are at risk from landslides, floods and/or coastal erosion. 1.3 million inhabitants are at risk of landslides and 6.8 million inhabitants at risk of flooding. The regions with the highest population values at risk of landslides and floods are Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Campania, Veneto, Lombardy, and Liguria. There are almost 548,000 families at risk due to landslides and over 2.9 million due to floods. Out of a total of over 14.5 million buildings, over 565,000 (3.9%) are located in high and very high landslide hazard areas; those located in floodable areas in the average scenario are over 1.5 million (10 .7%).
