Annual report to the Parliament on the automotive
fuels quality produced, imported and marketed in
2006
The ever increasing popularity of the issues
related to the use of fuels for motor vehicles is evident in the
recent period. From an environmental point of view, the growth of
the emissions due to transport is a major cause of not achieving
the Kyoto Protocol objectives. There are also the problems due to
traffic air pollution in urban areas. The European Union is
facing such problems with a complex strategy, which acts on the
fuels characteristics, engine performance, consumption of motor
vehicles and on the efficiency of the emissions reduction devices.
Under this strategy, Legislative Decree n. 66 of 21 March 2005
confered to APAT the task of monitoring the quality of motor
vehicles fuels and transmit annually to the Parliament a report on
the results of this activity. This document presents the results of
ISPRA activities and describes accurately the procedures adopted
for the collection, management and processing of data, referred to
the year 2006.
