New funding for projects on intelligent energy
The European Intelligent Energy Program, established under the
Framework Program for the Competitiveness and Innovation (CIP
2007-20013) adopted by Decision of the European Parliament and the
Council of 24 October 2006, issued the call for proposals covering
the year 2009 ending in June 25.
The objective of the Intelligent Energy - Europe (IEE) is to help
ensure secure energy supplies to Europe, sustainable and
competitively priced and at the same time help to achieve the
ambitious goals it has set on climate change established by the
European Energy Policy and the European Plan of Action on energy
efficiency. By 2020, the EU has pledged to reduce by 20% the
emissions of greenhouse gases, increase of 20% energy efficiency,
use of a 20% share of renewable energies.
