After Slovenia, Albania, France and Spain also EU has adopted the decision to ratify the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Protocol
13 September On 13 September 2010, the European Council adopted the decision to ratify the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Protocol (ICZM Protocol), one of the seven Protocols of Barcelona Convention. This is a step forward the entry into force of the Protocol that needs at least six ratifications from the Member States. European Environment Commissioner Janez Potocnik has welcomed the adoption of the Council decision, saying that it was good news for a region under extreme pressure and a strong signal of commitment from the EU to the protection and sustainable management of the Mediterranean coast.
