Electromagnetic fields

Intense activities carried out by ISPRA

25 March

The main sources of electromagnetic fields, which have been in recent years the focus of ISPRA's activities aimed at assessing the environmental and social impacts associated with them, in collaboration with the regional and provincial environmental agencies system (ARPA / APPA) and other institutional bodies, such as the National Institute of Health (ISS), the Inter-University Center on the interactions between electromagnetic fields and biosystems (ICEmB) and some universities, are represented by long-distance power lines, radio and television plants (RTV) and radio base stations (SRB). The installation of these sources in the territory has led over time to an increased risk perception by the population associated exposed to electromagnetic fields. The perception is the result of a complex mechanism in which multiple factors contribute to fuel belief often inaccurate.
