ACCOBAMS Agreement

During the Fourth Meeting of the Parties to ACCOBAMS that was held in Monaco, 9-12 November 2010, the Italian delegate offered to share the Italian experience and provide data for aerial surveys on cetaceans that were conducted in the seas around Italy, by Ispra in collaboration with Tethys Institute. A synthesis of this work on the site ACCOBAMS.

At the same meeting, in an other sideevent, have been showed the main results of the first aerial survey carried out on the whole Adriatic Sea by Ispra (scientific coordination Caterina Fortuna). This initiative "goes on the spirit of regional cooperation promoted by ACCOBAMS", as underlined by Ana Strbenac, president of the Bureau.
