Img

Rome, 14 October. In the Mediterranean there is a black coral that becomes brigh by touching it, a species that had previously been reported only in the Pacific Ocean along the California coast, and around 700 meters deep. It is known as Savalia lucifica and has recently been found in the waters of Capo San Vito, the western part of Sicily, during a survey campaign carried out through the oceanographic ship Astrea ISPRA.
