EU Commission publishes the 2012 Life+ call
27 March The Life+ call 2012 was published under the Life+ 2007-13 program, the financial instrument promoted by the European Commission for the Environmental Protection. The amount made available for the projects grants for 276,710,000 euros. In the Official Journal are explained the procedure of transmission of the projects. The application can be forwarded only through Internet. The "eProposal" should be a guarantee of speed. The deadline to present the project is scheduled for 26 September. Proposals may be submitted by public or private institutions and individuals residing in EU member states and must contain actions related to the three thematic areas of "Nature and diversity" "Environmental Policy and Governance" and "Information and communication ". The first area will include proposals addressing the protection, conservation, restoration, monitoring of natural systems, natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora. Projects on governance and environmental policies will refer to issues related to climate change that stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations. As far as the water resource, the aim should be targeted to help to improve water quality, while as far as air, projects will be welcomed to improve the air quality in order to avoid significant negative impacts and risks to human health and the environment. Projects addressing the soil will be accepted with the aim to protect the soil and ensuring their sustainable use. Pojects to improve the environmental performance of urban areas of Europe will also be accepted.
