Accident in the nuclear plant of Penly (France)

In the night between April 5th and 6th, ISPRA's Emergency Nuclear Center received an information note issued by the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) about an accident occurred in Unit 2 of the Penly nuclear plant, owned by EDF, which overlooks the English Channel, located over 600 km from the Italian border. The messages have been received through the ECURIE system, aimed at the prompt notification in case of nuclear accidents, for which the ISPRA is the national contact point. As usual, ISPRA has informed the Department of Civil Protection.
