Goodbye Sergio Silenzi

On June 6, 2012 Sergio Silenzi, a dear friend and colleague, passed away. He was marine geologist and a keen student of paleoclimatology, coastal geomorphology and sea level changes.
Researcher in ISPRA since the late '90s, Sergio dedicated his energies to numerous scientific activities, becoming renowned and respected both nationally and internationally. Sergio has been coordinator of the ISPRA's Climate change and coastal studies unit, has published over 130 scientific articles in national and international reviews and was the author of several popular science documentaries, including "A boiling sea"," T-Med "and" Med Archives". His loss leaves a huge void for its outstanding professionalism and competence and for his human qualities
