Weather alert on most part of the country

The Head of the Civil Protection Department Franco Gabrielli, convened today, 15 October, an Operating Committee, partecipated also by ISPRA, focused on preventive measures to be adopted in view of the fall season.
As widely announced, an intense disturbance of Atlantic origin has reached since last night our country, bringing unstable weather in the north-western regions, extending to the rest of the territory.
Based on the available forecasts and in consultation with all the involved regions, which are responsible for the activation of civil protection systems in the territories, the Civil Protection  Department issued a notice of adverse weather conditions.
The first disturbance which is affecting the most of the country is just an appetizer of what will happen in the coming months: it is necessary to be prepared. These are the words of Franco Gabrielli, after the meeting of the Operations Committee convened to face the weather emergency. Gabrielli noted that "the rise in temperature recorded in the Mediterranean leads to the formation of unpredictable storm cells that run down on the ground with dangerous side effects".
On the Civil Protection Department website some general rules of behavior in case of bad weather are available. It is also recommmended to keep ourselves informed on the evolution of the phenomena, on the measures and on the procedures indicated by the territorial structures of civil protection.
