Excursion in the Simbruini Mountains in Abruzzo : where geology, paleontology and history meet each other
The event will take place during the Planet Earth week (18/25 October 2015)
As every year, the Department of Soil / Geological Survey of Ispra, in the whole of the “Planet Earth week", proposes an activity to spread and disseminate of the geological and environmental Sciences. The scientific topics proposed concerning the studies of soil, geological cartography and the fossils which ISPRA has been studying for many years, also in collaboration with other organizations.
Next 24 October there will be a geological, paleontological and historical itinerary that lead the participants into the very suggestive Simbruini Mountains in Abruzzo, along the old road Consular Tiburtina Valeria. The excursion aims to underline the natural characteristics of this area and also the high cultural and historical value, visiting the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dei Bisognosi and the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Carseoli.
If you want to join the tour is scheduled for 24 October at 8:30 at the exit Oricola-Carsoli of the A24 Rome-L'Aquila-Teramo. The deadline for registration is October 12
