ENCA-23

It started today in Zagabria, Croata, the 23-meeting of ENCA network, The European Nature Conservation Agency Heads Network, that includes also ISPRA. The main target is strengthen nature conservation in Europe by improving cooperation and collaboration among its members.

Inside the network  operate different interest groups, that include Climate Change Adaptation, Ecosystem Services, GMO, Marine Biodiversity, Monitoring & Assessment, and Sustainable Land Use & Agriculture.

The topics of the current meeting are the level of achievement of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets (20 different targets agreed in 2010 by the UN Convention on Biological Diversity to conserve biodiversity at national and international scale) for the 2010-2020 period and to discuss the post-2020 Biodiversity strategy at the global and European level, with further discussion around its integration into National strategies.
