Today, ISPRA has continued the GPS data acquisition for the assessment of post-seismic deformation. In particular, have been acquired new data from air platform to be analyzed and processed for stations of seismic microzonation of Aquata del Tronto.
Old upgrades
After a stop due to bad weather teams are again working for the seismic microzonation and inspections required by DICOMAC for the hydrogeological instability, above all the e positioning of the MAP (Modular housing units provisional). On the ground three Teams that, in cooperation with different Universities, have carried oput surveys in different villages of the municipality of Arquata del Tronto.
Ispra is continuing the activity and inspections of the area of Arquata del Tronto, also thank to the participation of a geologist of the Order of Geologists of the Marche. Geophysical studies have also started in the Borgo, with geoelectric surveys, seismic refraction and MASW.
Today the General Director of ISPRA Stefano Laporta met the Manager for post emergency interventions of Civil Protection National Francesco Campopiano, for a joint assessment of the current status of activity and to plan further works. During the meeting were also present experts from the Soil Department and Waste Service of ISPRA.
ISPRA is still working to elaborate GPS data for the assessment of post seismic deformation. In addition the microzonation seismic activities, the experts have carried out a number of geomorphological observations aimed to evaluate the landslide hazard in the areas of Pescara del Tronto and Arquata del Tronto.
Following the meeting held in the morning of September 23 at the DICOMAC of Rieti, it was decided to organize a series of inspections in the town of Amatrice, on the sites already investigated and published in the "report inspections for the assessment of geo-hydrological conditions of the sites used for MAP for the town of Amatrice " issued by the Lazio Region.

Yesterday there was a meeting between ISPRA together with DPC, IGAG-CNR, INGV and University Roma to identify the best methodological choice about geophysical surveys to verify the presence of underground cavities in the red zone of the municipality of Amatrice. On the request of Technical Department, in various surroundings of the town of Amatrice were carried out inspections to check the areas suitable for placement of the SAE (Temporary Housing Solutions modules).
After the earthquakes recorded last evening, that hit again Italy Central, ISPRA is ready to provide technical and scientific support to face the emergency in accordance with and on the request of the Civil Protection Department. The Institute continues to work, with its own experts, in areas of the Earthquake of August 24, both in terms of inspections to define of landslides and hydrogeological instability and for the conclusion of the seismic micro-zoning.
