The green (parks, gardens) and blue (canals, rivers and bodies of water) infrastructures provide various services to citizens whose importance has recently been recognized by the WHO (World Health Organisation), however the development of new areas and the very management of existing ones often does not take into account the potential impacts they can have on the well-being of citizens and on the physical and/or mental state of health or on diseases.

The Project, with the scientific coordination of the ISS and with the Calabria Region as leader, sees the involvement of 7 Operational Units, in addition to ISPRA: ARPA Calabria, ARPAE Emilia-Romagna, Department of Epidemiology SSR Lazio Region - ASL Roma1, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, University of Bologna, National Interuniversity Consortium for Environmental Sciences, ARTA Abruzzo. The project includes in-depth analysis of some case studies and with reference to four regions of our country: Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Abruzzo and Calabria.
