Copernicus4SNPA - Launch of the practical community for the use of Earth observation in SNPA institutional tasks
Rome, ISPRA headquarters, Conference room 30-31 January / 13-14 February / 5-6 March 2024
The first phase of the education and training path for the SNPA starts on January 30th as part of the "ISPRA-Agencies Collaboration for the promotion and support in the knowledge, diffusion and use of Copernicus methods and products", the European Earth Observation programme. Earth (OT), with the involvement of the Coordinator of the National User Forum, Prof. Andrea Taramelli of the IUSS of Pavia, of the National Coordinator of the Copernicus Academy, Prof. Bernardo De Bernardinis, and of the Copernicus Entrusted Entities delegated by the European Commission: Mercator Ocean International , the European Environment Agency, ECMWF, JRC, SatCen.
The objective is to build a community of practice for the use of OT in the institutional tasks of the System - from monitoring the marine environment, the territory, land movements, air quality, climate change, to Emergency and Security, offered free of charge by Copernicus - which, at both ISPRA and each of the Agencies, is able to continue and make this training action permanent
This is in order to implement possible synergies, respecting the skills and fields of action, which allow us to improve and strengthen the tools, procedures and services for monitoring, control, technical support, also through the sharing of knowledge, data and information, and research activities in the matters within the competence of the SNPA, institutional purposes that the Bodies intend and must pursue jointly.
This action, co-financed by the European Commission as part of the FPCUP project, consists of 3 phases: 6 days in presence at ISPRA, 2 days at each Agency and a further 3 meetings at ISPRA, with the involvement of approximately 25% of the SNPA technical staff .
