Municipal Waste Report - edition 2023. Summary data
The Urban Waste Report which presents the data relating to the year 2022, now in its twenty-fifth edition, is the result of a complex activity of data collection, analysis and processing by the National Center for Waste and Circular Economy of ISPRA, with the contribution of regional and provincial agencies for environmental protection.
Through an effective and complete knowledge system on waste, the aim is to provide an objective and updated framework of information to support the legislator in orienting appropriate policies and interventions, to monitor their effectiveness, introducing, if necessary, any corrective measures.
The Report on Energy Recovery from Waste in Italy, prepared in collaboration by UTILITALIA and ISPRA, is a study aimed at providing information on anaerobic digestion and incineration plants with energy recovery of waste in Italy. These plants are part of the integrated waste management system for the implementation of a circular economy model and, with particular reference to heat treatment plants, fundamental for the recovery of non-recyclable fractions and aimed at minimizing the use of landfill disposal.
