Generation Awake
The European Commission this week has launched a new phase of its 'Generation Awake' campaign on resource efficiency, carried out in 2012 to underline what each person can every day to save water, engery and other natural resources, reducing waste. This phase promotes better waste management and aims to encourage EU citizens to discover the value of waste and to recycle, reuse, exchange, upcycle, repair. Behind the light-hearted campaign is a serious message: waste often contains valuable materials that can be reintroduced into the economy, if properly reused or recycled.
