Earthquake in Central Italy
The Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and the ISPRA (National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) are operating as part of the National Civil Protection System, together with the whole National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA), in constant contact with the regional agencies of the areas affected by the earthquake occured last night.
The top priority of the National System of Civil Protection are the victims and the displaced persons. From tomorrow the technical staff of ISPRA, under the coordination of the national Civil Protection, will go on the earthquake sites to check for any danger that the earthquake could have generated. In particular, it is feared that further earthquakes can cause other landslides and collapses. Therefore it's necessary to identify the risks in order to mitigate their impact on the population and the territory in general.
