The workshop aims to deepen , trough a series of meeting, the main features of the biology and ecology of bats, providing useful elements for the recognition of Italian species and the rules and practical actions for the protection of these special mammals.
During the workshop, ISPRA experts will present a speech on the ecology of transmission diseases, evaluating the role of bats in the circuits of transmission of some pathogens, such as coronavirus (CoV) responsible for major epidemics of SARS (which occurred in 2002 and 2003) and MERS (arisen in 2012 and currently in progress).
