The f uture of Geosciences in Italy

The eventi "The future of Geosciences in Italy" - promoted by the Italian Geological Society, the Geological Service of Italy (ISPRA), the Italian Society of Mineralogy and Petrology and by the Italian Palaeontological Society - aims to draw the attention of the geological community on the necessity of defining and sharing strategic initiatives, in order to contribute to the growth and development of the geosciences, and to ensure a better future for our society. The contribution of all the Italian geologists is important to achieve this objective. For this reason it was created the website www.futurogeoscienze.socgeol.it, intended as an open space to share ideas and opinions. The contributions collected will be summarized and discussed during a workshop and will be used to outline a draft of a document describing the objectives that our community seeks to achieve in the next decade, the investments and educational tools needed to achieve them.
