GEA Polo

The GEA Polo of the National Library Service (RM 426)

The GEA Polo was born in June 1995, as a single library pole with data migration of the electronic catalog of the Library of the Department for National Technical Services (DSTN) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), in the Index System SBN, managed by the ICCU.

Later, the following libraries entered Polo GEA: ICRAM Library, Ministry of Environment Library, ORSA Library and ARPA Puglia Library. With the L.133 / 2008, which established ISPRA, the ICRAM and INFS libraries have become officially part of the ISPRA Library. Currently the Polo GEA is composed by the Libraries of ISPRA, ARPA Puglia and ORSA.

The ISPRA Library guarantees  coordination between the libraries which are part of the GEA Polo and it provides human resources, hardware and software needed to ensure the proper management of catalog data.

The management system and cataloging currently used by the GEA Polo is Sebina Open Library (SOL). The online catalog of the Polo GEA is visible at http://opac.isprambiente.it .The software is owned by DATA MANAGEMENT, therefore to use it is needed to acquire licenses
