The initiative is organized by researchers of the ISPRA's
Technical-Scientific Structure of
Chioggia and of the National Institute of Oceanography and
Experimental Geophysics - OGS of Trieste, coordinated by
Prof. Ruthy Gertwagen, historian at the University of Haifa
(Israel) and team leader of the international project "History of
Marine Animal Populations" (HMAP) in the Mediterranean and Black
Sea.
The initiative is supported by ISPRA, HMAP Mediterranean and Black
Sea, the Sloan
Foundation, Census of Marine Life and Eur-oceans international
projects.
The school is addressed to PhD students, Post doc, graduated,
willing to deepen the theme of historical ecology of the
Mediterranean and Black Sea. The school will provide an overview of
different methodological approaches of study related to both human
and scientific disciplines. The speakers come from research
institutes and universities in Europe and in the Mediterranean
area.
