Survey on the promotion of marine sciences and our relationship with the sea
The European association EuroGOOS, which brings together 48 bodies that manage monitoring networks for the collection of data relating to the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of seas and oceans and of which ISPRA is also a member, has launched a survey to survey the various Ocean Literacy initiatives.
This term, born about twenty years ago in the USA and spread through the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, refers to the need to spread knowledge of marine sciences, in order to understand the importance that the seas and oceans play in our life, while at the same time arousing positive emotions and an active commitment to their protection on the part of everyone.
The questionnaire for the census of the initiatives carried out to raise awareness of the sea and its many resources can be completed until 31 July 2024.
