Report "Water resources in the geological context of the Italian territory. Availability, large dams, geological risks, opportunities"
The Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) is an Italian scientific center that, among its institutional tasks, aims to deepen the knowledge of the hydrological and hydrogeological characteristics of the Italian territory. It does so through studies and research on the formation, distribution and circulation of surface and underground waters in relation to the geological characteristics of the soil/underground, also depending on the availability of the quantity/quality of this important resource.
This "Report" on "Water resources in the geological context of the Italian territory. Availability, large dams, geological risks, opportunities" is therefore intended to provide the scientific community with additional data on this issue, expanding knowledge on the extent of water resources and their use, both in relation to artificial barriers for the creation of reservoirs, as well as on their relationship with natural "risks", such as seismic, tectonic, geomorphological and hydraulic
