National Greenhouse Gas Inventory System in Italy. Year 2010

The document describes the National System for the preparation of the national inventory of emissions into the atmosphere. This system, which is required under the Kyoto Protocol, was established at the national level by the Legislative Decree 51/2008. As stated in the decree ISPRA (former APAT) is responsible for the implementation of the national inventory of emissions and updating of the document that describes the National System for the preparation of the national inventory system announced in 2010 under the Framework Convention on Climate Change United Nations (UNFCCC), the Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Mechanism of the European Union and the Kyoto Protocol. The document lists the roles and responsibilities of the institutional bodies involved in the preparation of the inventory, the main sources of information, systems and procedures for quality control of the inventory as well as the national legislation of reference. This document is reported annually by the ISPRA MATTM together with estimates of emissions and the documentation that describes the estimation methods and trends of the time series of emissions.
