Wien: signed last 17 September the quinquennial renewal of the Cooperation Agreement between ISPRA and US.NRC regarding nuclear safety

The ceremony had also a special significance because the Agreement celebrates also its 40th anniversary, having been signed for the first time in 1975, date on which the nuclear functions of Ispra today were performed by CNEN.

The signing ceremony was managed by Italian Ambassador Mr Filippo  Formica.

After a brief exchange of information on the main current activities, the Agreement was signed by the General Director for Ispra Mr. Stefano Laporta and the US.NRC by Chairman Mr. Stephen Burns. For the two Nuclear Safety Authorities, were also participating present Eng. Roberto Ranieri, Director for International Relations and Cooperation for nuclear safety, and Eng. Giuseppe Sedda, Manager for safeguards and physical protection, while for US.NRC Mr. Nader Mamish, Responsible for international programs and Mr. Mark Satorius, executive director for operations.
