Presentation of the book "The perception of the indoor air pollution risk"
December 15, 9,30. University of Rome "La Sapienza", Faculty of Sociology - Lecture hall B14
The volume that will be presented to the public shows the
results of the research: "The perception of the indoor air
pollution risk: a survey in two municipalities of Rome", that ISPRA
realised under a project entrusted to the Department of Social
Research and Sociological Methodology "G. Statera" in the faculty
of Sociology at the Sapienza University of Rome.
The aim of the survey is to make a first assessment of the
awareness concerning the risks detectable in home environments.
Even if perceived as one of the most "secure" environments, homes
often hide dangers to our health because of pollution sources
unconsciously brought in and also because of the immediate
relationship between subjects and environment, in which the direct
action of the individuals plays a crucial role.
It's now well known that particularly in the home (where we spend
over 80% of our time) it may be found situations of air pollution
which can affect our overall well-being. Our own behavior and
choices can effectivly reduce to zero these threatening
pollutants
