Mathematical modelling in the assessment of physical effects induced by sediment handling in marine-coastal areas
The Handbook contains guidelines for the application of mathematical modelling to study the physical effects induced by sediment handling operations, in order to optimize the intervention with regard to the expected environmental effects. Starting from a literature review, it proposes standards for setting up modelling studies and analysing results in different phases of the intervention's design and management. The Handbook provides basic knowledge, operational indications for the different marine-coastal areas and relationships between modelling and monitoring.
