Enhancing soils anywhere enhances life everywhere

The slogan “Enhancing soils anywhere enhances life
everywhere", coined by UNCCD for the International Year for the
biodiversity is aimed to sensibilize the general public about
desertification, soil degradation and drought and the possible
damages on the biodiversity. On the national territory have been
individuated some regions more at risk such as Basilicata,
Calabria, Puglia, Sardegna and Sicilia. In Italy the
desertification is linked with the presence of some areas
characterized by ‘fragiles” ecosystems, very
vulnerable.
