The meeting was attended, in addition to the ASI, (Italian Space Agency) by a member of the office of the Military Advisor of the Prime Minister, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior - Department of Firefighters, Defense - Covi and Foreign Affairs , ENAC, ENAV, ISPRA and the Civil Protection Commission of the Conference of the Regions.
Subsequently, despite the low possibility that one or more fragments of the launcher could hit our country, the Head of the Department, Fabrizio Curcio, informed the components and operational structures of the National Service, as well as the Regions concerned, on the evolution of the expected scenario.
Based on the latest data provided by the Italian Space Agency, at the moment the forecast of re-entry into the atmosphere is set in a window of uncertainty between 8.00 and 10.00 (Italian time) today, 4 November. In this period, 4 overflights of the Italian territory are planned, generated by two orbits, which will affect the regions of Sardinia, Lazio, Molise, Puglia, Calabria. It is therefore not yet completely possible to exclude the remote possibility that one or more fragments of the satellite could fall on our territory.
