OECD Science, Technology and Industry Scoreboard 2011
September 23
The tenth edition of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation
and Development) " Science, Technology and Industry Scoreboard
2011" Report has been recently published . The key subjects of this
edition are Innovation and Growth in Knowledge Economies.
Knowledge Economy as emerging subject for the current economic
background is always more one of the conditions to spread wellness
and knowledge among society. The "optimal use" of Knowledge from
companies make human resource the leading actor in the creation of
wealth.
The OECD "Science, Technology and Industry Scoreboard 2011" builds
on 50 years of indicator development at OECD to look at major
trends in knowledge and innovation in the global economy. Over 180
indicators illustrate and analyze trends in science, technology,
innovation and industrial performance in OECD and major non-OECD
countries (notably Brazil, the Russian Federation, India,
Indonesia, the People's Republic of China and South Africa). New
players in the field of International competition are eroding the
leadership of more established economies. Studying patent quality
in different sectors has also allowed the OECD to assess which
countries are doing best in innovation. The report takes into
account traditional, new and experimental indicators such as
quantitative estimates of R&D tax incentives and indicators of
public funding "modes" (institutional versus project funding) that
could represent a step towards new insights into areas of policy
interest.
