ENCA European Network plenary session

ENCA-24 will be hosted by the Environment Agency Austria (EAA), from 7 to 8 april, in Vienna, Austria, the european network for nature conservation.

Individual agency representatives will discuss strategies to address the loss of the planet's biological integrity and national and European scale measures. The delegates will work to define a technical document to be proposed to policy makers for post-2020 targets and related indicators.

ENCA has defined six priority work areas:

1. Management of protected areas and restoration of habitats

2. Application of the nature legislation

3.Promoting the condition of habitats and a Favorable Conservation Status

4. Mainstreaming Nature Conservation and social issues

5. Landscape approach, sustainable land use and agricultural policies

6. Natural capital, ecosystem services, green infrastructure and mapping and evaluation of ecosystem services (MAES)

Work on these points will be developed through the ENCA action plan, now under development.
