In implementation of the Consolidated Law on Forests and Forestry Supply Chains, (Decree 34/2018), the National Forest Strategy was approved, after an extensive consultation process, as well as a series of decrees on specific issues such as professional training, roads forestry, ancient woods, etc. A Fund of 420 million Euros was set up to implement the strategy.

With the amendment of art. 9 of the Constitution, Italy has recognized the environment as a value protected by the constitution On May 19, during the Nature in mind event, the " Charter for biodiversity education " was presented, wanted by the Presidency of the Republic and supported by the Ministries of Education and Ecological Transition. A Charter to accompany the new generations to understand the complexity of the phenomena of nature and to act for the path of ecological and cultural transition. The "Charter for biodiversity education" will be presented on June 3 during an institutional event to be held at the Presidential Estate of Castelporziano, in Rome. The document testifies to the will of the world of schools and civil society to promote innovative training courses and the commitment to spread a culture of sustainability oriented towards respect for nature and a conscious use of the planet's resources. ISPRA will be present at the event with dissemination and environmental education products and a photographic exhibition. The participation of the president of ISPRA, Stefano Laporta and of the DG of ISPRA, Maria Siclari is expected. Started the activity on field of MoRinet project
Field activities have begun in the Gulf of Asinara and in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara (Villasimius) of the Mo.Ri.net project (Monitoring, census, removal and recycling of ghost nets: fishermen as key players in the safeguard of the sea. Through campaigns on board fishing boats and scuba diving, ISPRA, together with the University of Siena and the Carabinieri Underwater Unit of Cagliari, give life to the phase of the project which involves the characterization of the two areas subject to protection, describing the populations present. At the same time, the number and type of marine litter will be determined to remove, if possible, the fishermen and the underwater carabinieri. The collected waste, which has suitable characteristics, will be sent to the recycling process to start a new life thanks to the Polieco Consortium, while the non-recyclable ones will be sent for proper disposal.

Geological and geomorphological cartography - Applications in territorial planning and risk management
