The post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework is to be adopted in Montreal, a series of commitments that countries will have to meet, individually and collectively, to put humanity on the path to achieving the goal of "living in harmony with nature ” by 2050.

The draft agreement on which the debate will focus speaks of 4 objectives to be achieved by 2050 and which focus on:

  • storage
  • sustainable use of resources
  • equitable sharing of the benefits deriving from nature
  • technical and financial capabilities.

ISPRA has provided scientific support to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security in drafting the Framework and in the negotiations, which began in 2019, and is committed to significantly contributing to the implementation of these commitments.
