International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction
The International Day for Natural Disaster Risk Reduction, known worldwide as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, is celebrated on October 13.
The day was created at the behest of the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. The objective of establishing this day is to send an important signal to the governments of all the countries of the world as well as to international organizations and the global population, to reflect on the ever greater frequency and consistency with which natural disasters occur.

The Italian platform on hydrogeological instability - IdroGEO, created by ISPRA, allows the consultation, downloading and sharing of data, maps, reports, documents from the Inventory of Landslide Phenomena in Italy - IFFI, national landslide hazard maps and floods and risk indicators.
The GeoSciencesIR project began in October 2022, of which ISPRA is a partner, the new research infrastructure for the Italian Network of Geological Services (RISG) which will make the necessary data, services and tools available to regional geological services and beyond for carrying out monitoring and control functions in the various fields of Earth sciences. To what risks due to geological events such as landslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, are we exposed in the area in which we live? GeoSciencesIR will answer these and other questions.
On October 25th in Genoa, on the occasion of the 40th Annual Assembly of the ANCI, the SNPA Report "Land consumption, territorial dynamics and ecosystem services" will be presented
