Indoor air pollution and health in Italian schools

The Ministry of Health has funded, through the CCM, the National Project "Exposure to indoor pollutants: guidelines for the assessment of risk factors in the school environment and definition of measures for the protection of the respiratory health of school children and adolescents -" Indoor School ". The project (2010-2013), coordinated by the Institute of Health, conducted a study on the exposure of students and school personnel (primary and secondary schools) to indoor pollutants and assessed the relationship between such exposure and health effects.Tthe results, which will be presented during this workshop, confirm the epidemiological evidence of both national and European studies, and provide a framework of knowledge on air quality in Italian schools and the related respiratory health risks for students.
