The activities of ISPRA for the protection of Cultural Heritage: the ArTeK project
ArTeK (Satellite Enabled Services for Preservation and Valorisation of Cultural Heritage) is a project aimed at providing a tool for the monitoring of conservation condition and the degradation risk of Cultural Property.
The project, funded by ESA (European Space Agency) with the support of ASI (Italian Space Agency), was coordinated by NAIS (Nextant Applications and Innovative Solutions) with the collaboration of ISCR (Higher Institute for Conservation and Restoration), ISPRA, CNR-IMAA (National Research Council - Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis), ENAV (National Agency for Flight Assistance), SUPERELECTRIC srl, STRAGO SpA and ipTronix srl.
This work describes the activities carried out by ISPRA, aimed at assessing the anthropogenic and natural hazards of the pilot sites selected for the project: Villa Adriana and the historic center of Tivoli (Tivoli), Civita di Bagnoregio (Bagnoregio), the Regional Urban Park of Monte Orlando and the archaeological area of Gianola (Gaeta and Formia), the archaeological area of Baia (Bacoli) and Matera.
