The indicators of sustainable development in Mediterranean sea - Italy 2007

The Mediterranean region is a natural and cultural environment unique in the world, whose prosperity depends primarily on the preservation and enhancement of its natural resources. To monitor the implementation of the "Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development" Blue Plan of UNEP MAP has selected 34 priority indicators. The report presents, in the original language, the contribution of APAT regards Italy. The indicators of sustainable development, if properly constructed and populated, are an excellent tool for the evaluation of policies and measures undertaken at national level.
