Environmental Data Yearbook 2010
The Environmental Data Yearbook (ninth edition) is the most complete and comprehensive collection of statistical data and information on the state of the environment published nationally. The publication is the result of the institutional work of selection and dissemination of statistical data carried out by the Agency System and of the collaboration between Ispra and the Regional and Provincial Agencies in the environment protection.
Several technical and scientific bodies actively contributed also to this edition, particularly to the preparation of documents and to the data validation (Main Reference Institutions).
The extended edition shows the environmental data and information in an analytical way through individual index cards, which are useful to describe in detail and rigorously the main environmental issues. The synopsis introducing the cards, contains some information relating to indicators, their representation through tables and figures, and the frequency of updating. The structure of the cards (metadata section) has been simplified compared to the one used in the Yearbook Database, through the selection of the essential information on the indicators. In particular, you will find the indicator description, a reference to the quality of ithe nformation, the objectives of the legislation, status and trends, comments to tables and figures.
The directory is organized into four sections: Introductory elements, Productive sectors, Environmental status and Protection and prevention (Answers).
Compared to the previous edition, we report the introduction of a new chapter on the environmental aspects of the Italian population's daily life. The chapter shows expectations, habits, level of knowledge of the Italian people in relation to the environment.
