Annual report on the automotive fuels quality produced, imported and marketed in 2012

The European Union has addressed more and more effectively the problem of air pollution from vehicular traffic. In this context, environmental specifications for petrol and diesel fuels constitute one of the main elements of the measures adopted at Community and national level to reduce atmospheric emissions of pollutants linked to the consumption of fuels.

The standards of fuels quality available today are the result of a technological development and a set of regulatory measures during the years in order to ensure protection of health and the environment.

This report presents the results of the activities carried out by ISPRA in national monitoring of the quality of automotive fuels and explains the procedures adopted for the collection, management and processing of data concerning the specifications of the fuels produced, imported and marketed in the year 2012.
