World Day for Combating Desertification and Drought

The "World Day for Combating Desertification and Drought" was established by United Nations with a resolution of 1995 and it is celebrated every 17 June. This year the topic is based on the drought, with the following slogan" Rising up from drought together" ISPRA to celebrate this important event has organized last 14 June a webinar on "Towards the United Nations World Day for Combating Desertification and Drought on 17 June".

Today an ISPRA researcher is participating at the meeting organized by Sassari University.

ISPRA participates in the FIT4REUSE project which aims to define safe and sustainable solutions for the integrated use of unconventional water resources in agriculture in the Mediterranean area. The project aims to address the challenges on the use of non-conventional water (such as purified wastewater and desalinated water) in agriculture through three levels: innovation in technology relating to treatment; application in simulated-relevant environments; evaluation and regulation, guaranteed by the inclusion of governmental, industrial and research partners from different areas of the Mediterranean.
