Transshipment of Syrians chemical agents. ISPRA part of the body of permanent monitoring

It started this morning, in Gioia Tauro, the transshipment operations of Syrian chemical weapons. Escorted by a helicopter and naval units, the ship entered into the Calabrian port under exceptional security measures. A permanent monitoring center will supervise the activities, coordinated by the prefect of Reggio Calabria, Claudio Sammartino. They include representatives of local authorities and representatives of ISPRA, Arpacal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Navy. In the monitoring room will be present also the Minister of the Environment, Gian Luca Galletti.
