National tree day 2013. Trees in the city: the roots of our future
The initiative of environmental education, promoted by Ministry of Environment, was organized by ISPRA in collaboration with the Regional Park of Appia Antica, to underline the establishment at institutional level of the National tree day, with the law 10/2013.
In particular, the law, through the implementation of educational initiatives in this Day that, according to tradition, is celebrated every year on November 21, aims to promote the knowledge and respect of tree species in the city, also to stimulate sustainable behavior by citizens.
The initiative, which was included in the program of the UNESCO Week of Education for Sustainable Development was held at the School Alessandro Manzoni in Rome, with the participation of some classes of primary school.
