Science and the environment. Scientific knowledge for environmental priorities. Volume II
Based on the conclusions reached by the ANPA Scientific Committee, this volume deals with the production of energy, indoor and urban atmospheric pollution, anthropogenic contribution to climate changes. The approach chosen in dealing with these topics has been defined by the authors as “quantitative” and draws attention to “dominant factors”. E.g.: it is true that, when hydrogen burns it only gives off water, but to produce it (since it is non-existent on Earth) a “quantitatively” superior amount of energy is consumed than is generated.
