Marine and costal protection strategies subsequent to an oil spill and/or hazardous and noxious substances (HNS)
The Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, ISPRA (Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale), has been commissioned by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and the Protection of Land and Sea (Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare) to elaborate a technical –practical tool for supporting the Institutional bodies, part of the Italian National System Contingency Plan, in fighting the environmental effects due to oil spills and/or hazardous and noxious substances (HNS).
The Emergency at Sea Booklets have been realized by the Marine Environmental Emergency team of ISPRA, that can rely on the technical- scientific competence acquired, over the years, through on site activities at national and international level.
